Safeguarding Training Officer Mark Bagnall

First published on: 29th June 2020

Id like to introduce myself. Im Mark Bagnall, the Dioceses new Safeguarding Training Officer. My role is to ensure that the Foundation and Leadership modules are delivered in the Diocese. This is carried out in conjunction with the volunteer trainers.

My background is in teaching, youth work and training. For the last seven years I have been working in training and coaching with individuals and organisations. Previously, I spent 26 years working with the Methodist Church as a Training and Development Officer. My work has included training with voluntary children and youth workers, adult education programmes, clergy training and managing full-time youth and community workers in a variety of settings.

I have worked in Cranmer Hall for several years as the lead in delivering safeguarding to student ordinands.

I am committed to the development of the individual, so that they can grow to be whole people. This commitment has been the central thread to my working life. This extends to safeguarding training. Its hard work getting it right but it is how we present the Church as giving hope with so much to offer.
