Appointments
The Revd Chris Minchin, currently Team Vicar at Benwell & Scotswood Benefice (Newcastle West Deanery), is going to be Vicar of Newcastle Christchurch with St Ann Benefice (Newcastle Central Deanery) and Chaplain to Northumbria University, wef 9 November 2026.
The Revd Mairi Howell, currently Assistant Curate at Tynemouth Cullercoats St Paul Benefice, will be Team Rector of Willington Team Benefice and Priest in Charge of Wallsend St John Benefice, wef Tuesday, 6 October 2026.

The Revd Canon Dr George Robert Joseph Kelsey, retiring as Vicar of Norham with Duddo and Priest in Charge of Cornhill with Carham and Branxton Benefice, on 31st December 2026
Roles in the Diocese
The Revd Allison Joan Harding is stepping down as Assistant Curate in Benefices of Ashington, Seaton Hirst St John & St Andrew, Woodhorn with Newbiggin and Pioneer Minister for SENT, from 1st November 2026. From 2nd November 2026 will be Diocesan Director of Ordinands and Vocations.
The Revd Canon Sarah Anne Lunn continues at Bellingham Deanery Area Dean for a second term.
