Remembrance Day Services 2023

Services and events will take place across the Diocese to mark Remembrance Sunday.

Saturday 11 November | Newcastle Cathedral 10.55am | Act of Remembrance for Armistice Day
On Armistice Day, join the Dean of Newcastle in St. Nicholas Square to observe two minutes of silence together. 

Sunday 12 November | Eldon Square War Memorial 10.45am | Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service
The procession will assemble outside Brunswick Methodist Church Hall, Brunswick Place at 10.15am before processing to the City War Memorial, Eldon Square for 10.45am. A service including a two-minute silence and the placing of wreaths will be led by Bishop Helen-Ann, starting at 10.58am. This will be live-streamed from Newcastle City Council's Facebook page

Sunday 12 November | Newcastle Cathedral 10am | Sung Eucharist for Remembrance Sunday
A service to remember those who have given their lives for their country in conflict and those serving who put their lives at risk today. All are welcome to attend and observe the two-minute silence. 

Sunday 12 November | All Saints Gosforth 9.30am | Remembrance Day Service
An all-age service honouring those who have died in war and conflicts. 

Sunday 12 November | St. Gabriel's Church Heaton 9.45am | Eucharist with Parade and Act of Remembrance
All Age Eucharist with Parade followed by an Act of Remembrance at 11am. 

Sunday 12 November | Holy Trinity Parish Church, Widdrington 10.45am | Remembrance Sunday Service
