St. Thomas' is seeking a Verger.
We're looking for a proactive and practical individual to provide logistical and behind-the-scenes support to St Thomas', maintaining the efficient operation of the church in line with its growing congregation and activities. This part-time role is flexible and will include ongoing support and training.
Role Overview:
You will support the team at St Thomas’ by preparing the church building for services and events, holding keyholder responsibilities, and conducting general property and operational maintenance. You will work closely with the Church Wardens, Church Leaders, and the Operations Team to oversee the safe running of regular and one-off events and general use of the building.
Working Hours:
- 15 hours per week, including 8 hours on Sundays (10am-2pm, 6pm-10pm).
- Flexible hours throughout the week, based on event schedules. Occasional extra hours may be available.
Salary:
The salary for a full-time appointment is £25,350 per annum, pro-rata for part-time appointments (i.e. £10,140 per annum for a 15 hour week).
