The Diocese of Newcastle wishes to appoint a Community Missioner for Longbenton
As part of Newcastle diocesan-wide reorientation "Seeking, Sharing, Sending" we are engaged in discernment about the places and people we notice God working. Key in the development of this is to part-time support a Community Missioner role for a lay or ordained person. This role will amplify existing discernment in two parishes, praying and working with clergy and laity as they seek to turn outward in mission. We also hope that the role can contribute to the development of learning communities focussed on Community Mission, supported by both members of the Mission and Ministry Team across Newcastle Diocese and national initiatives (such as The Centre for Theology and Community).
Hours: 18 hours per week (part time).
Salary: The post is offered at a starting salary of £14,741 rising to £15,517 (FTE £32,326) on completion of probation.
Location: St Mary Magdalene Church and St Bartholomew Church, Longbenton.
Closing date: 23/06/2025
Interviews: 30/06/2025
