Minimum Requirements
All parish websites should have up-to-date safeguarding information clearly visible and accessible. The Parish Safeguarding Handbook states that the incumbent and PCC “will ensure that safeguarding arrangements are clearly visible on the front page of the parish website”.
A parish website must have a section labelled ‘Safeguarding’ which, as a minimum, includes:
- The contact details of a local person who can offer safeguarding help and who knows how to respond appropriately to a safeguarding concern or allegation; and
- The contact details of Jill Thirlaway, our Diocesan Safeguarding Casework Advisor: safeguarding@newcastle.anglican.org
IF YOU HAVE A PARISH WEBSITE, PLEASE MAKE SURE IT IS UP-TO-DATE
Social Media
If you have a presence on social media, it would be good practice to include safeguarding information there too. Please also make sure your ACNY page is up-to-date. If you need any assistance with your ACNY page, contact our communications team at communications@newcastle.anglican.org
