Safeguarding

Please note that the Diocesan Safeguarding Team will be on annual leave from the 19th December, as part of Church House’s full closure through the Christmas period.

  • If you have an urgent casework matter that requires immediate attention, we would recommend that you contact your relevant Archdeacon’s office, who will be better placed to assist you from now until the 5th January, when the Safeguarding Team will return to operations as normal.
  • The safeguarding phone (0191 270 4105) is unlikely to be fully monitored until the 5th January. The phone will be taking voicemails as normal, should you wish to leave us a message to respond to on our return.
  • However, our team will continue to monitor our email address and concern referral form on select days through Christmas, should you need to get in touch with us for less urgent matters: safeguarding@newcastle.anglican.org

The Diocese of Newcastle is committed to keeping children, young people, and adults safe. We want everyone, especially those who are vulnerable, to have a safe and supportive place to grow in faith and worship.
