The Bishop of Newcastle wishes to appoint a Vicar to the Benefice of Scremerston, Spittal and Tweedmouth.
This is an ideal opportunity for a visionary priest in the open Evangelical tradition to work collaboratively with three parishes in a stunning location in North Northumberland.
Our priorities include:
- Deepening our spiritual life and further developing our discipleship – leading, equipping and encouraging our congregations to be a power for Christ
- Building on our existing mission activities in the parishes, being a visible presence in our communities
- Engaging the harder-to-reach communities, especially those in younger age groups
- Further realising our environmental aspirations
The ideal candidate will be prayerful, visionary and collaborative. They will be engaging and creative, with a down-to-earth approach and a passion for sharing the Gospel and making God’s love tangible.
Support for the vicar and PCCs will be available from St Thomas's Church, Newcastle, designated as a resource for supporting the establishment and development of new worshipping communities within parishes, for example Teatime Church, Messy Church.
