Remembrance Day Services 2022

Services and events marking Remembrance Sunday will take place across the diocese this weekend. 

Friday 11 November Newcastle Cathedral 11am | Two Minute Silence
On Armistice Day, join the Dean of Newcastle in Cathedral Square at 11am to observe two minutes of silence together.

 

Sunday 13 November Newcastle Cathedral 10.00am | Sung Eucharist for Remembrance Sunday
A service to remember those who have given their lives for their country in conflict, and those serving who put their lives at risk today. All are welcome to attend. This service will also be livestreamed on Newcastle Cathedral's YouTube page.

 

Sunday 13 November Eldon Square War Memorial 10.30am | Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service
The procession will assemble outside Brunswick Methodist Church Hall, Brunswick Place at 10.30am before processing to the City War Memorial, Eldon Square at 10.45am. A service including a two-minute silence will be held and wreaths placed on the Memorial. Bishop Mark will be in attendance. 

 

Sunday 13 November St. Alban's, Earsdon 10.00am | Remembrance Sunday Service
Act of Remembrance Service at St. Alban's followed by a procession to Earsdon War Memorial outside the Red Lion, arriving at approximately 10.45am. 

 

Sunday 13 November St. Peter's, Falstone 10.50am | Remembrance Sunday Service
Meet at the cenotaph at 10.50am followed by a service at 11.15am in church. 

 

Sunday 13 November St. Gabriel's Heaton 9.45am | Remembrance Sunday Service
All Age Eucharist with parade followed by an Act of Remembrance at 11.00am. 

 

Sunday 13 November St. John's Percy Main 10.45am | Remembrance Sunday Service
Join for an Act of Remembrance followed by a service of Holy Communion. 

 

Sunday 13 November St. Cuthbert's, Haydon Bridge 10.15am | Remembrance Sunday Service
The Service of Remembrance starts at 10.15am followed by a ceremony at the war memorial in time to observe two minutes of silence at 11am.
