Churches in a North Tyneside community have issued a big thank you after successfully reaching an ambitious Christmas target.
St John’s Church in Percy Main and St Peter’s, Balkwell, were seeking 950 chocolate selection boxes so they could be included in educational packs, to be handed out to schools in the parish.
The Christmas in a Bag packs have now been collated after the target was reached – and Bishop Mark Wroe was on handed to help with the packing while also blessing the bags.
The churches posted on social media to thank everyone who donated as well as those involved with the packing, in what was a great community effort.
The Christmas in a Bag packs each contain a Christingle kit and other activities which tell the Christmas story, as well as a short Christmas message from Bishop Helen-Ann.
The packs are contained in carrier bags provided by the Children’s Society, and also include a blank Christmas card for the children to send to a special person of their choice.
