On Saturday 7 September, Lindisfarne College of Theology launched their new academic year with an induction day for new students. This year sees a record number of students, with 85 in total.

The day concluded with a service of celebration at St. John’s Meadowfield as the Revd Dr Richard Briggs was licensed as the new Principal of the College.

Richard was licensed by both the Rt Revd Dr Helen-Ann Hartley (Bishop of Newcastle) and the Rt Revd Sarah Clark (Bishop of Jarrow and Acting Bishop of Durham) so that he is licensed in both Newcastle and Durham dioceses. Bishop Helen-Ann preached a powerful charge to attend to the local context where God has put us while Bishop Sarah led the Eucharist.
