Appointments
The Revd Allison Harding currently Vicar in the Benefice of Newburn and Assistant Area Dean of Newcastle West is going to be Assistant Curate in the Benefices of Ashington, Seaton Hirst and Woodhorn with Newbiggin and also Pioneer Minister in the Bishop’s Mission Order (SENT) wef 19th May 2025
The Revd Rachael Dines currently Team Vicar in the Dereham and District Team Ministry, Diocese of Norwich is going to be Priest in Charge of the Benefices of Amble and Chevington wef 3rd July 2025
The Revd Dr Hannah Cleugh currently Vicar in the Benefice of Monkseaton St Peter is also going to be Acting Archdeacon of Northumberland, 1st August – 31st October 2025
Resignation
The Revd Matthew Hunter currently Priest in Charge in the Benefice of Whorlton, is resigning wef 9th June 2025 and is going to be Team Rector of the Parish of St John and St Luke, Bilton, Harrogate, Diocese of Leeds
Death notices
The Revd Canon Peter Kenney, died 1 April 2025:
Requiem mass for Revd Canon Peter Kenney to be held in Newcastle Cathedral, on 23 April at 10am. Refreshments will be provided afterwards. All are welcome to join. There will be no robing for clergy. Family flowers only. Donations to MacMillan or Cancer Research via W S Harrison Funeral Directors on the day.
The Revd Canon Peter Robert Strange, died 27 March 2025:
Requiem mass for Revd Canon Peter Robert Strange to be held in St John the Baptist, Grainger Street, on 23 April at 12 Noon, followed by a wake in the church hall. All colleagues and friends are welcome to join. There will be no robing for clergy. No flowers please. Donations to the Shrine of our Lady of Walsingham and Royal Northern Sinfonia care of J Bardgett and Sons Funeral Directors.
