At St Mary’s, we seek to be a people of prayer. In relationship with God, we desire to foster a safe, caring, and outward-looking community, reaching out to all with God’s love. Through us, we hope more people will recognise God's presence in their lives and come to realise that they are valued children of God.

The parish of Fawdon: St Mary's is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.
