Priest to the Benefice of Newcastle St George & St Hilda.

The Bishop of Newcastle wishes to appoint a full-time priest to the Benefice of Newcastle St George & St Hilda.

Might God be calling you to serve in one of Newcastle’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, to help our two congregations connect better with our community, in service and in joyful Christian witness?  The people of St Hilda’s and St George’s are praying for a lively, mission-minded priest, who will re-invigorate our worshipping life; deepen our spirituality; grow our congregations larger, younger and more diverse; and renew our churches as outward-looking and inspiring spiritual and pastoral resources for the whole community of Jesmond.

St George’s and St Hilda’s are two beautiful, inclusive Anglican churches, in the catholic and choral tradition, close to the city centre buzz and set within the historic context of Northumberland’s Christian heritage, yet focussed on contemporary challenges including social justice and the stewardship of creation. Our vicar will enjoy the support of able and committed colleagues and congregations.

We seek an experienced leader, possessing the wisdom, talent and enthusiasm, to help us to develop our people and our buildings to be truly “Good News” for Jesmond and the wider world.
