Interim Minister, Breamish and Till

The Bishop wishes to appoint an Interim Minister (full time for three years) to the Benefice of Breamish & Till in the Bamburgh & Glendale Deanery

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?”

We are looking for someone who will flourish in the beautiful rural setting of North Northumberland, and who will enable the four parishes in this benefice to grow.  Our new parish priest will have the ability and confidence to engage with the different communities of the benefice, while enabling collaboration between the parishes and developing a shared vision for the future.  The capacity to work with and inspire lay leaders is essential.  The successful candidate will be an experienced leader who is able to nurture gifts and skills in others, and needs to be a strategic thinker as well as having a strong pastoral presence.

The benefice comprises four parishes and six church buildings, with a population of around 1,500, spread over a wide geographical area.  It is part of Glendale, which also includes the Cheviot Benefice, and the two benefices share a Bishop’s Mission Order, the North Northumberland Mission Initiative (MINN).  The successful candidate will be a key player in MINN, which is tasked with working collaboratively with the wider community, and developing new resources for mission and ministry.  The benefice includes part of the Northumberland National Park, and is within easy reach of the coast.  There is an attractive modern vicarage in the village of Eglingham, next to the church.
